1. Summary
- GrownPaws is a free informational tool about how puppies and kittens may grow and look as adults.
- It is not a veterinary diagnosis, medical service, or guarantee of any outcome.
- Results are estimates with limits. Confidence language matters. When evidence is thin, we say so.
- You are responsible for the information you enter and for how you use the results.
- Optional photo analysis, when available, is for visible appearance notes only and does not replace the core growth maths.
- Do not misuse the service (abuse, scraping that harms the site, attempts to break security, or illegal use).
2. Agreement to these terms
These Terms of use (“Terms”) are a binding agreement between you and the operator of GrownPaws (“we”, “us”, or “GrownPaws”) governing your access to and use of the website and related features at https://grownpaws.com/ and any local or preview deployments that present themselves as GrownPaws.
If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the service.
3. Who we are
GrownPaws is an independent free web application for curious pet parents. Contact details for legal and privacy questions are listed in Contact.
4. The GrownPaws service
GrownPaws helps you explore what a puppy or kitten may be like when grown, including adult size context, growth stage language, and appearance notes, based on:
- Information you provide about your pet
- Curated breed and growth references with provenance
- Deterministic calculations for eligible paths (especially dog adult-weight estimates where supported)
- Optional AI observation of visible traits from a photo, when that feature is enabled
The core predictor is designed to work when AI is unavailable. AI does not replace the scientific growth engine.

5. Not veterinary advice
GrownPaws provides informational growth and appearance estimates only. It is not a veterinary diagnostic service, not a clinical decision tool, and not a substitute for professional advice.
GrownPaws does not diagnose obesity, malnutrition, disease, growth disorders, or any medical condition. It does not prescribe food, medication, surgery, or training regimens.
If you are concerned about your pet’s growth or health, discuss it with a qualified veterinarian. Check measurements carefully before relying on any estimate.
6. Eligibility
You may use GrownPaws if you can form a binding agreement under the laws that apply to you. If you use GrownPaws on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have authority to accept these Terms for that organisation.
GrownPaws is about pets and is not designed to collect children’s personal data. See our Privacy Policy for more.
7. No account required
The core prediction journey does not require creating an account, password, or social login. Features that may appear later (such as saved histories) will be described when offered and may update these Terms.
GrownPaws is intended to remain free for the main experience. We do not add paywalls that block the core prediction journey.
8. Your inputs and accuracy
Predictions depend on what you enter. You are responsible for:
- Providing information that is as accurate as you reasonably can
- Using correct units (for example kilograms vs pounds) where offered
- Understanding that breed labels, mixed-breed guesses, and ages can be uncertain
- Not treating an estimate as a promise of adult size, coat, or colour
If a measurement sits outside what our current references support confidently, the product may refuse a neat number and tell you to check the measurement or speak with a veterinarian if you are concerned.
9. Optional photos and AI
Photo upload and AI observation are optional. You should only upload images you have the right to use.
When AI photo analysis is enabled, it may send a processed image to a third-party model provider to return structured appearance notes. Photos are not permanently stored by default. Details are in the Privacy Policy.
AI observations can be wrong. Lighting, crop, blur, and partial views all reduce reliability. Do not use photo notes as medical evidence or as a breed DNA test.
10. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use GrownPaws for any unlawful purpose, or in a way that harms people, animals, or the service
- Attempt to probe, scan, or breach security, rate limits, or access controls
- Overload expensive endpoints (including optional AI) through automated abuse, bots, or scrapers that degrade the service for others
- Upload malware, or content that is illegal, exploitative, or that you do not have rights to upload
- Misrepresent GrownPaws outputs as veterinary diagnoses, official kennel-club certificates, or guaranteed outcomes
- Remove or obscure notices, branding, or source credits in a way that misleads others about origin or endorsement
- Use the service to build a competing dataset by wholesale extraction of our curated scientific artefacts in violation of applicable law or these Terms
We may rate-limit, challenge, or block traffic that threatens stability, cost controls, or other users’ access.
11. Intellectual property
GrownPaws branding, site design, doodles and illustrations we publish, software, copy we author, and our curated presentation of the product are owned by us or our licensors. You may use the public site for its intended personal, non-abusive purpose.
You may not copy, scrape, mirror, or redistribute the GrownPaws site or brand assets as if they were your own product, except for ordinary browser caching or fair dealing / fair use as allowed by law.
Third-party breed standards, papers, and organisation materials remain the property of their owners. We cite and link; we do not claim their endorsement. See Sources.
12. Third-party sources and links
GrownPaws may link to external websites (for example research papers or breed organisations). We are not responsible for their content, availability, or privacy practices. Following an external link is at your own risk.
Open-access research we rely on (such as Creative Commons licensed papers) remains subject to those licences and proper attribution. Copyrighted breed standards are referenced by citation and link, not republished in full on GrownPaws.
13. Advertising and optional tips
GrownPaws may later show display advertising to help cover operating costs, or offer an optional tip / support link. Ads and tips are not required to complete a prediction.
When advertising is enabled, we will update the Privacy Policy to name providers and consent practices. We do not use dark patterns that imitate predictor controls or force ad interaction to get a result.
Third-party ads are governed by the advertiser’s and network’s own terms. We do not endorse every advertised product.
14. Availability and changes
We aim to keep GrownPaws available, but we do not guarantee unbroken uptime. Features may change, pause, or end as we improve accuracy, safety, cost control, or compliance.
Breed coverage, confidence levels, and calculation paths can change when references improve. Past results are not a promise that the same inputs will produce the same output forever.
15. Disclaimers
To the fullest extent permitted by law, GrownPaws is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that estimates will be accurate, complete, current, or suitable for breeding, purchase, insurance, show eligibility, or medical decisions.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain disclaimers. In those places, disclaimers apply only to the maximum extent allowed.
16. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, GrownPaws and its operators, contributors, and suppliers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of pets, data, profits, goodwill, or opportunity, arising out of or related to your use of (or inability to use) the service, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the service or these Terms is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us specifically to use GrownPaws in the three months before the claim (if any), or (b) zero if the service was provided free of charge.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law (for example liability for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence where such a limit is not allowed).
17. Your responsibility
You agree to be responsible for claims, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your misuse of GrownPaws, your violation of these Terms, your violation of others’ rights (including uploading photos you do not have rights to use), or your reliance on estimates contrary to the veterinary and uncertainty warnings in these Terms, to the extent allowed by law.
18. Privacy
How we handle information is described in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of your understanding of how GrownPaws works alongside these Terms.
19. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or restrict access to all or part of the service if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, threaten the security or cost controls of the service, or if we must do so for legal or operational reasons.
You may stop using GrownPaws at any time. Provisions that by their nature should survive (including disclaimers, limitation of liability, intellectual property, and this survival note) will survive.
20. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable to the operator of GrownPaws, without regard to conflict-of-law rules that would apply a different jurisdiction’s laws, except where mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence cannot be waived.
If a court finds any part of these Terms unenforceable, the remaining parts stay in effect.
21. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms when the product, providers, or legal needs change. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms, except where applicable law requires a different process.
