1. Summary
- No account is required to use the core GrownPaws predictor.
- Prediction inputs are about your pet (for example species, breed context, age, sex, and weight), not about verifying your human identity.
- Optional photos, when that feature is available and turned on, are used only to observe visible appearance traits. We do not keep uploaded photographs permanently by default.
- Analytics and advertising are not enabled on the live product until we turn them on and update this page to name the providers.
- GrownPaws is free informational software. It is not a veterinary clinic and does not diagnose medical conditions.
2. Who we are
GrownPaws is the free puppy and kitten adult growth and appearance prediction application available at https://grownpaws.com/. In this policy, “we”, “us”, and “GrownPaws” mean the operator of that service.
If you have privacy questions, see Contact.
3. What we collect
We aim to collect only what is needed to run predictions, keep the service reliable and safe, and (only if enabled later) measure product use or show ads.
3.1 Information you provide about your pet
Depending on the steps you complete, this may include:
- Species (dog or cat)
- Breed context or mixed-breed information
- Sex
- Age
- Current weight (and optional height where offered)
- Appearance notes or selected appearance traits
- Optional parent-pet details where the product offers them
- Optional pet name, if you choose to enter one for presentation
These fields describe a pet. They are not used to create a user account or to identify you as a named person.
3.2 Optional photographs
If you use the optional photo step, you may upload an image of your pet. See Optional photos and AI for how that works.
3.3 Technical and security information
Like most websites, our hosting and security systems may process limited technical data needed to deliver pages and protect the service. This can include:
- IP address
- Approximate time of the request
- Browser and device type (user agent)
- Pages or endpoints requested
- Basic diagnostics needed to keep the site online and to rate-limit expensive features (such as optional AI photo analysis)
We do not ask for your email, phone number, postal address, or payment card details for the core free prediction journey.
3.4 What we do not try to collect
- Human identity documents or government IDs
- Precise GPS location from your device for predictions
- Medical records about you or your pet
- Genetic test files or laboratory reports (unless a future feature clearly asks for them and updates this policy)
- Children’s personal data as a target audience (see Children)
4. How we use information
We use the information described above to:
- Generate growth and appearance estimates using curated references and deterministic calculations
- Show confidence language, limits, and methodology context so results stay honest
- Optionally analyse a photo for visible coat and appearance notes when that feature is enabled
- Protect the service against abuse, spam, and runaway AI costs (including rate limits)
- Operate, debug, and improve reliability of the website
- Comply with law where we must, and respond to valid legal requests
- If enabled later and disclosed here: measure product usage (analytics) or show advertising
We do not sell pet prediction forms as a mailing list. We do not use your pet photo to train a public marketing gallery by default.
5. Optional photos and AI
Photo analysis is optional. The core predictor is designed to work without AI and without a photo.
When the photo feature is available and AI processing is enabled in our configuration, a typical flow is:
- You choose an image in your browser.
- The browser may resize or compress the image before upload to reduce size.
- The image is sent securely to our server for validation (type, size, and basic safety checks).
- An approved AI vision model may process the image to return structured appearance observations (for example visible coat colour, pattern, or coat length cues).
- The temporary image is not retained permanently by default. Only structured observations needed for your session or result may remain with the prediction output you see.
Photo AI is for visible appearance notes only. It is not used to diagnose disease, obesity, malnutrition, or growth disorders, and it should not invent adult weight numbers from a picture.
Because AI processing may use a third-party model provider, the image (or a derived version of it) may be processed by that provider under their terms and our configuration. When AI photo analysis is turned on for production, we will keep this section aligned with the live provider. Today, AI features may be off in some environments.
6. Accounts and logins
The core GrownPaws journey does not require an account, password, or social login. Prediction inputs are handled in the browser session for your visit unless a future feature clearly offers saved profiles and updates this policy.
7. Cookies and similar technologies
We may use cookies or similar technologies that are strictly needed to run the site (for example security, load balancing, or remembering a short-lived preference during your visit).
If we enable analytics or advertising cookies, we will:
- Name the providers in this policy
- Provide consent or preference controls where required (including for personalised ads in regions that require them)
- Avoid sending unnecessary free-text pet details to analytics
Until those features are enabled, you should not expect third-party advertising or analytics cookies from GrownPaws itself beyond what our hosting platform may use to deliver the site.
8. Analytics
Product analytics help us understand whether people can start and finish a prediction calmly. Our product design prefers category-level events (for example species selected, or prediction generated) rather than raw form dumps.
Current status: public analytics are not enabled by default. When we enable a provider (for example a privacy-friendly analytics tool or Google Analytics), we will update this section with the provider name, what is measured, and any consent requirements.
We do not intend to send pet names, raw photo files, or free-text appearance notes to analytics.
9. Advertising
GrownPaws is designed to stay free to use. Display advertising may be used later to help cover hosting and operating costs.
Current status: advertising is not enabled by default. Before ads go live we will update this policy with the ad network name (for example Google AdSense if that is the provider we use), describe placements at a high level, and implement consent tooling where required for personalised advertising (including EEA, UK, and Switzerland rules that apply to Google personalised ads).
Our product rules forbid ads that imitate prediction controls, block the core journey, or force extra clicks just to generate impressions.
If we later add an optional tip or support link (for example PayPal), that is voluntary. Tips are not required to use GrownPaws.
10. Service providers
We use trusted infrastructure partners to run GrownPaws. Depending on configuration, categories may include:
- Hosting / CDN: to serve the website and related assets
- AI model provider: to process optional photos when AI features are enabled
- Security / abuse prevention: such as rate limiting or an optional challenge service if enabled
- Analytics or ads: only if and when enabled, and then named in this policy
- Error monitoring: only if enabled, to diagnose outages (configured to avoid unnecessary personal data)
Providers process data only as needed to provide their service to us. We do not authorize them to use GrownPaws prediction inputs for their own unrelated marketing.
11. Retention
- Prediction inputs: kept primarily in your browser session for the visit. We do not run a permanent “pet profile database” for the MVP journey.
- Photographs: not permanently stored by default after processing. Temporary processing copies are deleted according to the photo lifecycle.
- Security / server logs: kept only as long as needed for security, abuse prevention, debugging, and legal obligations, then deleted or aggregated where practical.
- Analytics / ads data: only if those features are enabled, according to the named provider’s settings and this policy as updated.
If we later offer saved histories or accounts, we will publish a clearer retention schedule for those features before asking you to rely on them.
12. Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect the service, including HTTPS in production, server-side validation for uploads, size and type limits for photos, rate limits for expensive endpoints, and keeping API keys and other secrets off the browser.
No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure. Please use a current browser and avoid uploading photos you are not comfortable processing for an optional appearance note.
13. Children
GrownPaws is about pets and is not directed at collecting personal information from children. We do not knowingly ask for a child’s name, school, or contact details as part of the prediction flow.
If you believe a child has provided personal information to us in a way that should be removed, contact us using the details below and we will take reasonable steps to delete it.
14. International transfers
GrownPaws may be hosted and supported using infrastructure in more than one country. If you use optional AI photo analysis, image data may be processed in regions where the AI provider operates.
Where required by applicable law, we rely on appropriate safeguards for cross-border processing (for example the provider’s published transfer mechanisms). Exact locations depend on the live hosting and AI configuration.
15. Your choices and rights
Because the core product does not require an account, many choices are immediate:
- Do not enter optional fields you prefer to skip
- Skip the photo step entirely
- Close the tab or clear site data in your browser to remove session-held inputs on your device
- Use browser controls to block or clear cookies when analytics or ads are enabled
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict certain personal data, or to object to certain processing, or to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Because we minimise identifiers, we may need enough detail from you to locate any residual server logs that actually relate to your request.
To exercise a privacy request, email us using the contact section below.
16. Not veterinary advice
Privacy is separate from product limits, but both matter for trust. GrownPaws provides informational estimates only. It is not a veterinary diagnostic service and must not replace care from a qualified veterinarian.
If you are concerned about your pet’s growth or health, discuss it with a qualified veterinarian.

17. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when the product, providers, or legal requirements change. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. For material changes (such as enabling analytics or ads), we will update the relevant sections before or as those features go live.
